CIAA is just a few weeks away and we need your help to spread the word about the Urban League mission in this community!

Volunteering to distribute information about the Urban League of Central Carolinas is a GREAT way to help us continue “Empowering Communities and Changing Lives”! Last year, over 80,000 people participated in CIAA activities, many of whom live right here in the Central Carolinas region. We are recruiting Volunteers to help us staff a table at Bobcats Arena.

DO YOU HAVE A PASSION FOR THE PROGRAMS THAT WE PROVIDE IN THIS COMMUNITY?

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TOLD THAT YOU GIVE COMPELLING PRESENTATIONS?

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN TAKING ON A MORE VISIBLE ADVOCACY ROLE?

HAVE YOU EVER BENEFITTED FROM AN URBAN LEAGUE PROGRAM?

If you answered yes to any one of these questions, then it sounds like the Urban League of Central Carolinas Speaker’s Bureau is a GREAT opportunity for you!

Each month, the Urban League of Central Carolinas receives many opportunities to speak to various groups in our community about the programs and services that we provide. Even though we do big things in this community, our staff is limited and therefore we are unable to fill many of these requests.

That’s why we are developing a Speaker’s Bureau. We are seeking Volunteers who are can commit to facilitating at least two engagements each year. Engagements may consist of speaking to a group OR distributing information and answering questions at a table at a community event. ALL SPEAKER’S BUREAU VOLUNTEERS MUST COMMIT TO 8 HOURS OF ORIENTATION OVER THE COURSE OF TWO DAYS. During orientation, you will learn all about the Urban League and you will be given some tips on making compelling presentations. Emails will be sent to notify you of Speaker’s Bureau volunteer opportunities as they boocme available.
