The Urban League of Central Carolinas is designed to assist prospective students reach their potential of becoming a certified medical coder by earning a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential, the most recognized medical coding certification in the healthcare industry.  

There is a GROWING DEMAND for Medical Coders and this is your first step in pursuing a successful career in the business side of healthcare.

Program participants, at mininum, must meet the following criterion:

  • 200% income poverty guidelines
  • Some knowledge of medical coding terminology
  • Type at least 35 words per minute 

This fall session, due to COVID-19, will be offered online ONLY; and, will run for 5-weeks. 

Session dates are: September 8 - October 7; Tuesdays and Wednesday from 8:00A - 4P.

This course also includes a practice test (Saturday, October 10th) and the FINAL examantion (Saturday, October 24th) both tests are scheduled from 7:00A - 2P.
