Charlotte, NC – June 25, 2018 – The Urban league of Central Carolinas (ULCC) and GEICO invite Charlotte Area youth to a safe driving seminar on Friday, June 29, at the Urban League’s Uptown building. This event will feature a presentation by the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department. During this presentation, youth ages 12 - 18 years old will have the opportunity to learn and ask questions about driving safely, dealing with peer pressure and other obstacles they may face. 
This programming is a part of a larger partnership between ULCC and GEICO focused on empowering youth. “As a national partner GEICO is doing a lot of great work in communities across the U.S. The opportunity to partner at a local level and provide our youth with valuable learning experiences is of great benefit to the Central Carolinas. We look forward to continually being able to provide programming and access to social mobility for our youth. Public/private partnerships such as this is what will continue to create a social environment that we can all be proud of,” said Teddy McDaniel, ULCC president and CEO.
“GEICO is committed to doing our part to build safer, stronger communities,” said John Pham, GEICO Regional Vice President. It is a pleasure to partner with the Urban League of the Central Carolinas and the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department to educate our youth on the importance of road safety through simulation and other interactive methods.
